Learning how to code emails using HTML and CSS is a great starting point for learning how to code other things, and it's a more transferable skill than using drag and drop editors or frameworks. Although these tools are useful, they have their limits and may not allow for the exact look and feel you want.
Email and web both use HTML and CSS, but email code is more restricted due to security concerns. Email code goes through an HTML sanitizer to remove or edit parts of the code to prevent malicious links or viruses. Email clients also have greater differences in feature support compared to web browsers.
HTML is the language used to create the content of an email, consisting of elements with opening and closing tags. CSS is used to style the content of the email, with properties and values applied to HTML elements. The two languages work together to create a visually appealing email, with CSS applied through linked, embedded, or inline styles.
